Fe Chwythodd yr awel ar Gymru drachefn, we sang with gusto to the well known tune, To God be the glory. And because many of Horeb’s congregation are not fluent in Welsh, Simon had thoughtfully supplied translations of the Welsh hymns; so we knew we were singing, The wind of the Spirit has swept across Wales again.
Last year, on the tenth anniversary of our sharing agreement with Bethel, we shared worship and lunch; it was so good that we decided to do it again. So the two congregations united to make a full church, with readings, prayers and hymns in both languages, and a sermon mostly in English, by Simon our URC Moderator, which helped us to understand the significance of the transfiguration.
At the end, Graeme, with the help of Lola, Thomas and Adam, added his own slant on the story with (inevitably) visual aids.
Then we sat down to an excellent lunch, provided by both congregations. It looks like being an annual event!
