Long in the consideration and planning, the Horeb Lunch Club kicked off on Thursday 4th September 2014 as we served our first meal.
Eighteen people turned up to enjoy meat and potato pie, with mashed potato, carrots, peas and gravy, with stewed plums and custard for pudding and a cup of tea to finish off with.
Ages ranged from five to over ninety-five, and everyone pronounced it good food and good value and good company.
For the present the Lunch Club will be held on the first Thursday in each month. Lunch will be served at 12 noon (arrive 11.30) and will cost just £3.50 for two courses and a cup of tea.
Who can come? Anyone who would like a good meal at lunch time in the company of others is welcome. If you know of someone who would appreciate such a service please tell them.
The next occasion will be on the 2nd October. To book a place ring Pauline on 570958.
