Joining together for worship with Bethel once a year is becoming a tradition. Whilst language would be a difficulty if this joint worship was too frequent, to do it occasionally emphasises that we share more than our building. Horeb folk may struggle with some of the Welsh, but the fact that we do it is what counts. Gron Ellis preached in English; the hymns and the prayers were half and half, the reading was in both!
When, after the service, we gather to eat lunch together, language is not a problem at all! One point which might be addressed is that, although we were mixed together during the service, at lunch we segregated into Welsh tables and English tables!
Let’s try to do better in future!
