Horeb United Reformed Church is the only English speaking, nonconformist church in Dyserth, a village of about 2500 people 6 miles from Rhyl on the coast of North Wales. 'Horeb' began its life as a Welsh Independent Chapel in 1842 but as the numbers of English speaking people in the village increased so did the demand for services in English and by the late 1800's Horeb was part of the English Congregational Union. The present building dates from 1927 In 1972 the English Congregational Church became part of the United Reformed Church and the church became known as Dyserth United Reformed Church. In 2006 the name 'Horeb' was revived and as the church is now shared with Bethel Presbyterian Church of Wales the building was renamed Capel Dyserth Chapel. The United Reformed congregation numbers about 30 adults with 15 or so children. Worship is friendly and informal in its style.
